March is Multiple Sclerosis awareness month.

I woke up this morning and everything was the same, or normal as it could be. I still have Multiple Sclerosis and the vision in my right eye is still not 100 % but I am used to my new normal. Some things have definitely changed in my world. I keep my phone close to the bed so that I can make a call if for some reason my next relapse takes away my ability to get out of bed or walk. You would think after a decade of doing this I might stop feeing the need to do that but the feelings from that morning are still too real.

First run since Covid two weeks ago. 22 total miles from Amarillo to Canyon and back. When I say I’m gonna run to Canyon it typically means I’m going to physically run there. Weather was great 45-49 with wind under 10 mph. Lungs were in decent shape. Return trip was jog/walk intervals trying to get my breathing right. I fueled my run with a bowl from @acaibar806. It is no exaggeration to say that I have been obsessed with running the Brazos Bend 100. I registered for this race a week before I ran segment 17 for MS Run the US. I even spent time on the Pennsylvania roads thinking about what this race would be like. I thought about how awesome it would feel to complete the race. I spent time thinking about every outcome possible including possible injury or the dreaded DNF. Not once did I imagine not getting to even start the race because of what happened overnight to my truck. It has been a long day on the phone trying to get things sorted out so I can make it back home in time for work next week. I am thankful for the many customer service agents with different companies who have helped me out today. The incredible hotel staff here who have been more than accommodating as well @courtyardbymarriott. I’m thankful for all of my friends who have sent encouraging messages to me through the day as well!
