It has been almost a year since my last blog post because I have been busy doing life! Not every day has been a beautiful sunrise snapshot from the top of the Rock Garden Trail at Palo Duro Canyon. Life does not always go the way we hope it will and thats okay. I choose to use those roadblocks as an opportunities to get out onto the trail for an adventure. I have been extremely busy lately with….Plant-based cooking, rattlesnakes, Vegas, Zion Ragnar Relay, being part of a documentary that will be released this fall, growing my hair out, Palo Duro Canyon, Graduate School, DNF @ Habanero Hundred, Human Resources, COVID-19 (twice), Watching Yellowstone (the TV show), Fundraising for MS Run the US, training runs for segment 17 of MS Run the US 2023 edition, coaching 2 club volleyball teams, Launched my own business, ACL/MCL injury, learned to rest while injured, running in a hail storm, storytelling…
A friend of mine once told me you don’t write a song to tell someone what to feel, you write a song to make them feel the lyrics of a song. My goal with this blog is not to sugar coat my life to create the perception that every day is perfect. I just want to share my story of living with MS. The good, the bad, the embarrassing? I shut down for many years after I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and buried myself with work. On the outside I was tough and a fighter but in reality I just ignored the disease altogether and stopped living life. I chose not to do that anymore. This past year has given me some amazing experiences that I would have missed out on if I had shut down when things went south.
As you can see I have done a lot of life this past year so I have plenty to write about. Honestly I will not post a new entry every day, probably not even weekly, definitely more than once a year though! I have some big adventures planned in the future that I will share as well. We all have a finite number of breaths we get to take and I choose to make the most of every one I get!
